Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Racial Harmony and Cultural Awareness Task Force to promote a community of inclusiveness while celebrating racial and cultural heritage. We will do this by bringing together diverse citizens to promote racial harmony and by encouraging appreciation and respect for cultural differences.

The Racial Harmony and Cultural Awareness Task Force is a City of Ocala initiative spearheaded by City Councilwoman Mary Sue Rich. The task force has been in existence since 2000. The Task Force meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. at the City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Administration Office, 828 NE 8th Avenue, Ocala, FL. Membership on the Task Force is open to all individuals and organizations who want to be involved in assisting the Task Force in furthering their mission.

REACH is the community outreach program of the Racial Harmony and Cultural Awareness Task Force.

The REACH logo cannot be used without the consent of the Task Force. Requests to use the logo should be submitted to the City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department Marketing Manager (Amy Casaletto, acasaletto@ocalafl.org) for proper vetting.
